Pam Dyson is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri, is retired as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas, and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor currently residing in Middle, Tennessee. She has been an Approved Provider for APT since 2010 and facilitated hundreds of hours of play therapy workshops across the country. Her expertise in play therapy coupled with her interactive style has established her reputation as a highly sought after speaker.

She is a graduate of the 2012 Leadership Academy of the Association for Play Therapy (APT) and was a member of the 2013 and 2014 Leadership Academy Committees. In 2012 she served as a member of the APT Technology Task Force and was the co-chair of the 2013-2014 APT Public Awareness Task Force. Pam was the recipient of the APT 2013 Key Award for Professional Education and Training and served two terms (2014-2020) on the APT Board of Directors. Her contributions to the play therapy community have been featured in several publications.

In 2010, she founded the St. Louis Center for Play Therapy Training and in 2014, upon relocating to Texas, founded the DFW Center for Play Therapy Training. Pam relocated to Middle Tennessee in 2020 and in 2022 and 2023 offered in-person play therapy training in Franklin, Tennessee.

Pam's a proud Midwest farmers daughter raised on meat and potatoes and country music. She's a wife, mother, grandmother, and Elvis fan. Prior to becoming a child therapist she worked as an early childhood educator and advocate for play. This website is devoted to promoting all things play and encouraging others to be playful everyday.
